Saturday SkyWayah

Back for a third year, the venerable "SkyWayah" drive is more extreme than ever! This year, we're all business, with passes on the Cherohala Skyway and Wayah Road in both directions! We'll depart Fontana Village and head towards the Dragon, but we'll wave goodbye to that paltry 11 mile stretch of curvy pavement, as we head south to the Skyway. We'll make one stop to strech our legs and use the restroom, and we'll continue on. Once we reach Tellico Plains, we'll take another brief stop for another restroom or gas break (V8s, you're gonna need to top off either here or during lunch!). Then, we'll power across the Skyway again and head into Robbinsville. We'll eat a quick lunch and hit the road again!

After lunch, we'll head down to Wayah Road, stopping to re-group before the fun re-starts. At the end of Wayah, we'll turn around at the gas station and do Wayah again. Finally, after Wayah, we'll take a deep breath and tackle the southern portion of the Hellbender as we return to Fontana Village.

This drive is 225 miles, and 5 hours. Previous QDM and/or HelenBack spirited driving experience is required. While this drive is not designed to be the "fastest" of the day, it is going to be a ton of work. A vast majority of the 225 miles will be spent on challenging curvy roads
