Saturday Mountains, Lakes, and Wine

We will leave Brasstown at a leisurely 10ish Saturday morning and take a short 20 mile drive to Brasstown Bald the highest mountain peak in Georgia at 4,784 feet above sea level. From the parking lot there is a 0.6 mile hike up a very steep incline to get to the visitors center at the top. There is a $3 fee to hike to the top or for $5 they will take you to the top in a shuttle.

For lunch we will take a short 30 mile drive on some good roads to The Chophouse at LaParades which sets on Lake Burton. Menu is here: http://murphyschophouse.com/laprades/pdfs/LunchMenu.pdf

After lunch we will take the long way to Tiger Mountain vineyards where you can browse their wines and have a tasting. Tastings run about $9.

Afterwards we will drive to Crane Creek Vineyards for another tasting ($6-$9)

Once we are ready to leave, our resort is just a short 5 miles away and we should be there with lots of time to relax before the banquet that evening.
