Friday Devil's Courthouse

Devil’s Courthouse, located at milepost 422.4 of the Blue Ridge Parkway, is filled with wonderful panoramic mountain views.

 

This drive will begin at Ridges Resort and Marina and will take us down a stretch of Hwy 64 to Hwy 74 and Blue Ridge Parkway.  Once we arrive at our destination, those who choose, will be able to take a short half mile hike to this overlook.

While atop you will have an opportunity to view rare and delicate high-altitude plants.  Watch out for Rock Gnome Lichen and the Spreading Avens. Some of these alpine species may be remnants from the last glacial period. The panoramic view from the summit includes four states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.

 

Once completed we will take Hwy 215 through Wolf Mountain and back onto Hwy 64 afterwards returning to the resort.

 

Along the way, we will stop to enjoy multiple scenic overlooks as well as lunch at yet to announced location.

 

This is a long drive, please be prepared to enjoy yourselves and your Audi.  Please don’t forget comfortable shoes.
