Ocho Loco Poker Run (Saturday)
Take a gamble on this drive. We start by getting each car to pull a card. The initial leg of the drive will head east on US 76 toward Clayton. With luck, we'll have some fun on the uphill parts. Continuing through Clayton, there's a tricky left turn onto Chattooga Ridge Road. This section is a little rough and narrow, so the pace will be slower. We'll make a stop along the way and each car will pull a second card. Now, the real fun begins, going north on 28 from Mountain Rest. This section is tight and twisty, and requires precise car placement all the way through Highlands to Franklin, where we stop for a well earned lunch at the Root+Barrell, and yes, you guessed it, pull another card. The afternoon keeps up the pace on 28 until we reach US 74 and aim for Bryson City. The rest of the drive is mostly scenic, with breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains, as we head south through Dillsboro on US 23 and US 64. We will make one more stop, but stay with us all the way back to BVR where each team will pull their fifth and final card. Crazy 8 cards are wild! The car with the best hand wins a shiny prize.
