Reaper's Revenge

The Carolina Reaper is back for 2023 and it wants revenge! Not for the faint of heart, this drive will be a day full of spicy twists, turns, and climbs only the high country of western North Carolina can offer. Our morning will feature Warwoman Rd, the infamous Moonshiner NC-28, and Ellijay Rd, before a short cruise to our lunch stop at SlopeSide Tavern. We will then turn up the heat and set our sights to the mountains as we enter a challenging climb up Parkway Rd towards its summit at the Courthouse Valley Overlook. Cars cooled and sights seen, it's time to make haste back home - this time breaking off for runs at Canada Rd and Pine Creek Rd. A brief fuel stop is planned for those who need it, followed by a fun cruise on US-64 back to QDM HQ in time to prepare for the banquet dinner festivities that evening.


This an endurance drive of twisty roads and elevation changes. It is only recommended for those with Spirited+ driving experience at past QDM, Tail of the Dragon, or HelenBack events. Both driver and their car will be put to task - make sure you're both up to the challenge!
