Important Update
After careful and lengthy deliberation, discussions with legal counsel, local authorities and the host venue, the Audi Club of Georgia Board of Directors voted unanimously to postpone Quattro de Mayo 2020 until further notice. It was not a decision we took lightly or ever thought we'd have to make, but it is the right decision given the current Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak. The health of the Quattro de Mayo community and the nation at large are most important.
What does this mean? It means that the planning committee has now redirected all efforts into finding a suitable weekend to re-schedule. There are a lot of moving parts for an event like this, so it will take a little more time to sort it all out. In the meantime, we will not be processing any cancellations, and ask that you not cancel your hotel reservations. Once we are able to secure a new weekend later this year, we will provide specific guidance to those who cannot attend, and will work with The Ridges and Holiday Inn Express to move reservations for those who can. Please remember that the entire Audi Club of Georgia Board of Directors and Quattro de Mayo 2020 planning committee are 100% volunteer driven. This means that we are working on the event in our spare time, and for no pay. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.
For anyone who has attended before, you know that QDM is so much more than an event. It is a community. My first Quattro de Mayo experience was in 2008, and I have not missed a single year since. The friendships I have forged with my fellow attendees will long outlast this outbreak. In 2010, when rockslides closed the Tail of the Dragon, the event adapted by expanding our range of drives offered. Because of that, in the following years we found new and exciting venues and amazing new roads. So even if we have to celebrate Quarantine de Mayo in 6 weeks and Quattro de Makeup later this year, we will only come out stronger because of this experience.
Please stay tuned for more updates.
Thank you!
