QDM 2021 Cancelled

QDM 2021 Cancelled

The QDM committee has been working hard since late November to plan a safe event that lives up to the Quattro de Mayo name, is compliant with all regulations, AND makes good on our promises to the 2020 registrants. We have explored many ideas for modifications to various aspects of the event, but alas, we have reached an impasse.

Over the past week, the QDM committee has had intense discussion about the likelihood that we can pull off the event we promised you, and it has become clear that pandemic conditions in North Carolina, and worldwide for that matter, will not be conducive, and are not expected to improve much over the next two months. The restrictions placed on our host facility, Crowne Plaza Asheville, are such that they are unable to host us. Additionally, it seems irresponsible to bring so many people together, sending them out on drives into various communities in the region.

So, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year's event, knowing that you will be every bit as disappointed as we are. Those who donated their registration fee in exchange for a guaranteed spot this year will see that carried over to next year.

As a consolation, we will continue to plan one day events like the recent Alabama Drive and upcoming Dragon Drive throughout the year, incorporating some of the annual favorites and hopefully, adding some new destinations to the repertoire. They will have one thing in common: Enthusiastic driving on fun and beautiful roads.

We thank you for continuing to support the event and look forward to a brighter, more predictable future for QDM 2022 at Brasstown Valley Resort in Hiawassee, GA.
